Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the supply chain function for a complex aerospace manufacturing operation in Coxsackie, NY.
This is a senior-level supply chain leadership position responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategy while overseeing supplier performance, commodity management, procurement, materials planning, inventory, logistics, and S&OP activities.
The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Finance, Sales, and suppliers to ensure the timely flow of materials and components from order entry through production and final customer delivery while achieving quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing supply chain management, with experience leading teams, managing strategic suppliers and commodities, driving supplier improvement, and using S&OP and ERP/MRP systems to support production and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide strategic direction for the overall supply chain organization.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with operational, financial, and customer requirements.
- Lead supplier development and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage commodity strategies, supplier relationships, and sourcing activities.
- Support supplier negotiations, including long-term agreements, terms and conditions, and cost objectives.
- Manage direct and indirect supplier relationships and ensure successful execution of supply chain strategies.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance management.
- Manage procurement of materials and services while achieving the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Serve as a key leader in the S&OP process, including production and program reviews, capacity planning, schedule status, material requirements, and mitigation planning.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve material shortages, delayed shipments, production priorities, overtime requirements, and other supply chain issues.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing logistics of materials, components, and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR and applicable aerospace/defense requirements.
- Establish cost, quality, and timing objectives for new component launches and develop action plans to achieve program and budgetary targets.
- Analyze supply chain performance, identify risks and trends, and implement process improvements.
- Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain operations.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate supply chain personnel while building a strong succession plan.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance supply chain organization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidates will have:
- 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
- Experience leading supply chain, procurement, materials, or related functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with supplier management, supplier development, strategic sourcing, and commodity management.
- At least 3 years of experience with S&OP processes.
- At least 3 years of experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, production planning, and procurement.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across an organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forward-planning capabilities.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including an understanding of cost and total cost of ownership.
- Experience applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to supply chain processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with databases, reporting systems, and supply chain analytics.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- MBA preferred.
- APICS/ASCM or ISM certification preferred.
- CPM, CSM, or CPSM certification is a plus.

Compensation
$109,000–$150,000 annual base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
